Restored Crosses reinstalled on the domes of Holy Virgin Cathedral

On September 4, 2026, the restoration of the crosses atop the domes of the Holy Virgin Cathedral “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco was completed.

The work began on July 24, when the cathedral crosses were removed from the domes and sent for restoration. Following the completion of the necessary work, the restored crosses were reinstalled in their places.

The restoration of the crosses is part of the ongoing efforts to beautify and preserve the cathedral in preparation for the 100th anniversary of the cathedral parish, which will be celebrated in 2027.
