Patriarchal congratulations to Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada on his 65th birthday
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulated His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal and Canada of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia on his 65th birthday and on the 30th anniversary of his episcopal consecration.
To Your Eminence Gabriel,
Archbishop of Montreal and Canada
Your Eminence!
I sincerely congratulate you on your 65th birthday, as well as on the 30th anniversary of your episcopal consecration.
From a young age, wishing to dedicate yourself to God and being inspired on this path by the example of your kinsman — the Holy Martyr Gabriel Luchinin, whose name you providentially took in monastic tonsure, you firmly chose the path of church service.
Having beheld Your zeal and labors, the Almighty has called You to the highest episcopal service, which You have already carried out for thirty years with special diligence and care for the clergy and the flock, teaching them and striving to act in a way pleasing to God and bearing fruit in every good work (Colossians 1:10).
In recognition of Your service and in connection with the notable anniversaries being celebrated, I consider it just to honor You with the Order of the Blessed Prince Daniel of Moscow (II degree).
I prayerfully wish you strength of body and soul, vigor of spirit, and generous help from the Lord in your further archpastoral labors, and above all — in the work of salvation.
With love in Christ,
+KIRILL, PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
