Prayerful celebrations at the home church Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord and the commemoration of St Tikhon, Bishop of Voronezh, the Miracle-Worker of Zadonsk, Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the chapel of the former orphanage, converted into the administration of the Western American Diocese, in honor of the patronal feast. It housed the cell of St John, Archbishop of Shanghai and San Francisco, the Miracle-Worker, and the library named after the ever-memorable Archbishop Anthony (Medvedev). The service was led by His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, with the the rector of the church, His Grace Bishop Theodosius of Seattle, and the clergy of the diocese.

At the end of service, a solemn procession of the cross took place around the building of the diocesan administration. The joy of the feast continued with a communal meal prepared for the archpastors, clergy, parishioners, and guests who gathered on this day to together offer thanksgiving prayers to God and His holy servant for the blessings poured out upon the Church and all its children.
