The First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad participates in enthronement celebrations of the newly-elected head of the North American Archdiocese of the Antiochian Orthodox Church
On Saturday, 14 May, 2023, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, participated in the festive reception celebration the enthronement of His Eminence Metropolitan Saba as head of the North American Archdiocese of the Antiochian Orthodox Church.
In his greeting, Metropolitan Nicholas remembered the missionary efforts of St Tikhon of Moscow and St Raphael of Brooklyn, and wished Metropolitan Saba Divine aid in his new duties and further fruitful cooperation between the Russian and Antiochian Orthodox Churches on the American soil. Metropolitan Nicholas then gave Metropolitan Saba a jubilee cross and panaghia made to mark the 100th anniversary of the Russian Church Abroad, inviting him to visit the Synod residence in New York.
After the reception, Vladyka Nicholas returned to the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady “of the Sign,” where he performed all-night vigil.
