The feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord at Holy Ascension Convent on the Mt of Olives

Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, led divine services at Ascension of the Lord Convent on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem on August 18-19, 2022. According to tradition, grapes and fruits were blessed.

According to tradition, after breakfast, the sisters of the monastery, along with the sisters of the monastery of St. Mary Magdalene boarded buses and went on a pilgrimage to Mount Tabor.

With the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos ??? of Jerusalem, Fr. Roman celebrated Great Vespers in the Church of the Transfiguration with the reading of the gospel narrative of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

Afterwards, the sisters drove to the monastery of The Holy Apostles in Capernaum where they were met by the caretaker of the monastery, Monk Ierinarch. The sisters had a picnic dinner and rested in the garden of the monastery.
