Pilgrims Led by the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad Participate in a Procession of the Cross in Kazan

On Monday, July 25, 2016, a group of pilgrims joined a procession of the cross with the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, being Orthodox faithful from Australia, Great Britain, the European Union, Canada and the USA, headed by the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York. The pilgrims were greeted at Sarapul’s Rechny Port by His Grace Bishop Antony of Sarapul and Mozhginsk; Protopriest Vyacheslav Ostroumov, Secretary of the Sarapul Diocese, and Viktor Sergeevich Erastov, Head of the Missionary Department of the diocese.

The pilgrims visited the city’s church, prayed at the miracle-working Beryozovsky Icon of St Nicholas of Myra.

Professor of Cultural Studies, Sabina Valerievna Kreklina, Director of Sarapul Museum, led the pilgrims on an excursion through the “Dacha Bashenina” exhibition at the Museum of History and Culture of Central Prikamya, where an exhibition will open titled “Spiritual Sarapul, scheduled to coincide with Sarapul’s Kazan Procession of the Cross.
