JAPAN: November 8, 2013
The main holy icon of the Russian diaspora is brought to Annunciation Church in Kyoto, Japan

On Friday, November 8, 2013, a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, accompanying the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign" to Japan, brought the holy image to Annunciation Church in the city of Kyoto. His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, after venerating the holy icons of the church, expressed his gratitude towards the church's rector, Protopriest Pavel Oikawe and his parishioners. Orthodox Christians of Kyoto were then given the opportunity to venerate the Kursk-Root Icon for several hours.

That evening, the gathered clergymen performed a moleben and akathist before the icon. Afterwards, Protopriest Serafim Gan delivered a sermon to the faithful.
