The Kursk-Root Icon Will Visit the Perm Diocese

On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign" will arrive at Holy Trinity Cathedral in the city of Perm, Russia. This icon is one of the most revered in the Russian Orthodox Church. The miracle-working icon, which is kept at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady "of the Sign" in New York, the center of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, is accompanied on this trip by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany and Priest Nicholas Olhovsky, its caretaker.

The icon will remain in Perm from October 2-9, where it will be available for veneration from 8 am to 7 pm daily.
