Appeal for Help to Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack

The Rector of Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY, Protopriest George Larin, and the members of its Parish Council, have hired an attorney to defend their church from a claim being heard in court on May 11, 2012.

Former parish member Oleg Mikhailovich Rodzianko, who departed into schism, filed a claim in court against the parish for reestablishing canonical unity with the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate five years ago.

The lawyer, who has already successfully defended ROCOR property from schismatics, requires a retainer of $10,000. Nyack’s Parish Council is appealing for financial help from its parishioners and all brethren and sisters in Christ, in the Fatherland and abroad.
