The Funeral and Burial of Abbess Evpraksia

On July 21, the day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, His Eminence Archbishop Hilarion of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, Chief Deputy President of the Synod of Bishops, performed the funeral for the newly-reposed Abbess Evpraksia of the Convent of Our Lady of Kazan in Sydney. Also serving were Protopriest John Stukacz, Protopriest Michael Li, Protopriest Michael Boikov and Protopriest George Lapardin, Hieromonk Joachim, Priest Boris Ignatievsky and Priest Vladimir Tsukanov, along with Protodeacon Basil Hadarin. Among those who came to pray for the peace of the late abbess was Abbess Anna (Karipoff), who began her own monastic path in this holy monastery. At the end of the funeral, His Eminence, the clergymen and worshipers headed for Rookwood Cemetery, where the Abbess was buried in a plot belonging to the Convent.

At the memorial trapeza organized at the Convent, Protopriest Nikita Chemodakov and Fr Vladimir gave eulogies.
