“In America, I Seem to Have Two Lives.”
The First Russian to Play in the NFL Discusses Sports,
Faith and Being in a Brotherhood of Russian Giants

Ilia Jarostchuk is the only Russian to play in what is likely the most successful sport in the world, the National Football League (NFL). Born in the USA, he never lived in Russia, but has an excellent knowledge of her culture and speaks fluent Russian. In this Russian-language interview, he talks about why he and his brothers were called “The Russian Front,” what spiritual lessons he gleaned from the monks of the Jordanville monastery, how they would adhere their crosses on their uniforms and how we should inspire youth to be modern but also happy believers in God.
