ADAMOVKA, UKRAINE: July 2, 2021
Uspensky Skete of Svyatogorsk Lavra consecrates a monument to St John of Shanghai the Miracle-worker in Ukraine

On Thursday, July 1, 2021, the eve of the anniversary of the repose of St John (Maximovich) the Miracle-worker of Shanghai and San Francisco, His Eminence Metropolitan Arseny of Svyatogorsk blessed a monument to the great saint of the Russian diaspora at the Skete of Svyatogorsk Lavra in Adamovka, Ukraine. Participating in the divine service, besides the clergymen of the Lavra, were Archpriest Gregory Joyce, Secretary of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and Sergei Kalfov, a parishioner of St Nicholas Cathedral in Seattle, WA. The latter was present when the holy man died 55 years ago.
