Celebration Schedule for the Feast Day of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Miracle-worker

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, the feast day of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Miracle-worker will be on Saturday, July 1 (the nearest Saturday to July 2). The celebration schedule for the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," which contains the relics of the saint, is as follows:

Thursday, June 29:
At 7:30 pm, after evening services, the reliquary of St John will be moved to the center of the cathedral and a moleben and akathis will be performed.

Friday, June 30:
Confession begins at 5 pm. All-night vigil will begin at 6 pm with the participation of a host of bishops and clergymen.

Saturday, July 1:
The greeting of the Archbishop begins at 9 am, followed by Divine Liturgy. A procession of the cross will follow with hymns to St John sung. A trapeza luncheon will follow for clergymen and worshipers.
