The Delegation of the Russian Church Abroad Accompanying the Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God Participates in Divine Liturgy at St Nicholas Cathedral in Ardatov, Russia

On October 7, 2016, His Grace Bishop Veniamin of Ardatov and Atyashevsk, together with His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, Deputy Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at St Nicholas Cathedral in Ardatov, Russia. The hierarchs were joined by clergymen of the diocese and clergy of the delegation accompanying the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God "of the Sign” on this visit.

A moleben was performed before the icon afterwards. Vladyka Veniamin then thanked Vladyka Nicholas for the spiritual joy they experienced. The icon was then ceremoniously accompanied out of the cathedral for the next leg of its journey to the Ardatov Diocese.

That evening, the people of Atyashevsk welcomed the icon. The clergymen of the region performed a moleben and akathist and anointed everyone with unction. The visit of the Queen of Heaven in the form of the Kursk-Root Icon will long be remembered in the area.
