Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan Receives the Senior Priest of Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Buenos Aires
On Thursday, March 26, 2015, Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts was celebrated to mark the Canon of St Andrew at St Sergius of Radonezh Chapel at the headquarters of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in New York. It was celebrated by Hieromonk Zosimas (Krampis) along with Priest Sergio Sylva, Senior Priest of Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Buenos Aires, Argentina, who is visiting the United States with the blessing of His Grace Bishop John of Caracas and South America.
At the end of divine services, His Grace Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, Deputy Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, delivered a sermon to the worshipers, expressing thanks to Fr Zosimas for his ministry to the English-speaking community in New York, which he does with loving kindness. His Grace also welcomed Fr Serge, wishing him heavenly aid in performing his pastoral ministry in Argentina. “Our prayers and our thoughts are with Bishop John of Caracas and South America,” stressed Bishop Nicholas, and he asked Fr Serge to extend his greetings to Vladyka John on the approaching holiday of holidays, which is the feast day of Buenos Aires’ Resurrection Cathedral.
At the end the service, His Grace received Fr Serge in his office, where they had a conversation about church life in South America, the activities of the diocese there and other matters of mutual interest.
