The 7th International Youth Forum “Faith and Deeds” is Held in Moscow

With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow hosted the 7th International Youth Forum “Faith and Deeds” on May 25, 2013.

Its organizers were the Synodal Department on Youth Affairs jointly with the “Georgievsky” Union of Orthodox Youth. 

His Holiness welcomed the conference participants. Almost a thousand young people from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries of the CIS, as well as from the US and Europe, participated.  The forum is an open platform where any topic can be discussed involving youth ministry in the Church.  

“Faith and Deeds” took the form of a panel discussion headed by His Grace Bishop Ignaty of Vyborg and Priozersk. Also participating were: VE Filippov, Acting Director of Moscow’s Department of Family and Youth Policy; VYu Kvyatkovsky, Vice President of the Cathedra of Youth and Mission Work of the Russian Orthodox University; Protopriest Andrei Sommer, Vice President of the Synodal Youth Department of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia; the actress Maria Golubkina; AV Epishev, Director of the Institute of Regional Development and Head of the Environment and Ecology; Priest George Fedotov, Secretary of Youth Ministry of the Moscow Oblast Dioceses; and Protopriest Maksim Pervozvansky of the Church of Forty Martyrs of Sebaste in Spassky slodboda, Moscow, head of the Orthodox youth periodical Naslednik [“Heir”], and the spiritual father of the youth organization Young Rus.  

After the discussions, Bishop Ignaty gave gramatas of blessing for participants in and organizers of the “Faith and Deeds” forum, after which the event broke up into sections devoted to various aspects of youth ministry and matters of practical work.
