NEW YORK: September 2, 2011
The Primate of the Russian Church Abroad Departs for the Holy Land

On Thursday, September 1, 2011, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, departed for the Holy Land, accompanied by Archimandrite John (Magramm). 

On Sunday, September 4, His Eminence will officiate at Divine Liturgy at the Russian Convent of St Mary Magdalene, Equal-to-the-Apostles, in Gethsemane, Jerusalem. The following day, Vladyka Hilarion will begin his pilgrimage to other holy sites. 

It is expected that His Eminence will celebrate Divine Liturgy at Holy Ascension Convent on the Mount of Olives on Sunday, September 11, and the following day, at the feast-day celebrations of St Alexander Nevsky Church at the "Russian Excavations."
