The Fifth Annual Orthodox Lenten Retreat to Be Held in San Francisco on Sunday, April 3

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Kyrill of San Francisco and Western America, Holy Virgin Cathedral "Joy of All Who Sorrow" will be hosting its fifth annual Orthodox Lenten Retreat on Sunday, April 3.

The program begins with the Divine Liturgy (in English) at 7:30 am. Following breakfast, special guest speaker Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov, pastor of All Saints Church in Moscow, missionary, teacher and author will present two talks: "The Meaning of Asceticism and the Study of the Ascetic Fathers in the Life of Lay Christians" and "The Mystery of Marriage and the Life of a Christian Family that Follows." The retreat will include an open forum for questions and answers, meals and a guided tour of the Cathedral, including the shrine of St John of Shanghai and San Francisco. Vespers start at 5:30 p.m. followed by informal fellowship in the Cathedral hall.
