Bishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe Participates in Feast-Day Celebrations and Three Hierarchs Cathedral

On February 12, 2011, the Cathedral of Three Hierarchs (St Basil the Great, St Gregory the Theologian and St John Chrysostom) of the Korsun Diocese in Paris, France, celebrated its feast day. Officiating at Divine Liturgy was His Grace Bishop Nestor of Korsun along with His Grace Bishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia). Also participating were clergymen from various dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Russian Church Abroad and the Exarchate of Russian Parishes of the Constantinople Patriarchate, as well as the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

During the minor entrance, Vladyka Nestor granted a double horarion to Deacon Nikolai Rebinder of the Korsun Diocese, who is temporarily assigned to serve at Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow.

This year, Three Hierarchs parish is celebrating its eightieth anniversary. The Korsun Diocese published a French-language color brochure featuring the church’s history. After divine services, a copy was given as a gift to the many worshipers in attendance. Everyone then participated in a festive trapeza held at the neighboring Catholic Church of St Lambert. During the event, the Paris Seminary Choir gave a performance of Russian songs.

The Catholic Church of Paris was represented at this event by Vicar Bishop Monsigneur Eric de Moulins-Beaufort. EV Mitrofanova, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to UNESCO, was also in attendance.
