NEW YORK: January 26, 2011
Bishop John of Caracas and South America Visits the Synodal Residence of the Primate of the Russian Church Abroad

On January 21-23, 2011, on his way to Moscow, His Grace Bishop John of Caracas and South America visited New York, where he stayed at the Synodal Residence of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. His Grace prayed during divine services, after which he received Priest Sergio Silva, recently ordained to the priesthood to serve at the Cathedral in Buenos Aires, as well as other guests.

On January 23, the Sunday after the Epiphany and the feast day of St Theophan the Recluse, Bishop John celebrated Divine Liturgy at St Seraphim Church in Sea Cliff, NY, along with Protopriest Michael Boikov, who is temporarily replacing the Parish Rector, along with Protodeacon Paul Wolkoff and Deacon Eugene Kallaur.

After the parish trapeza, bidding goodbye to and laying a blessing upon the clergymen and parishioners, Vladyka John left for Moscow to participate in a meeting of the Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church, devoted to the second anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
