DIOCESE OF EASTERN AMERICA AND NEW YORK: January 18, 2011
Priest Seraphim Schiedler, Cleric of the Eastern American Diocese, Reposes in the Lord

On Monday, January 17, 2011, after a long and serious illness, Priest Seraphim Schielder, Rector of St Innocent Mission in Nashville, TN, reposed in the Lord.

Fr Seraphim was born on November 25, 1942, in Vienna. In 2007, he was ordained to the deaconate and then priesthood by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Sydney and Australia, the current Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. Until recently, the reposed cleric served in the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, where, upon the instructions of his Hierarchy, he made frequent visits to Indonesia, where he assisted the local Orthodox Mission. Due to reasons of health, Fr Seraphim moved to the United States and was received by the Diocese of Eastern America and New York, where he opened and headed the Nashville mission.

The official website of the Eastern American Diocese will post the schedule of divine services at Holy Cross Monastery: http://eadiocese.org/News/2011/jan/16/scheidler.en.htm
