The Synod of Bishops and St Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral Will Host a Youth Symposium 

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and His Eminence Archbishop Justinian of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, a youth symposium is scheduled for October 2-3, 2010, devoted to the 90th anniversary of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad.  

Participating in this event will be clergymen and youth from regional parishes of the ROCOR and the Patriarchal parishes of the US.   

On October 2, a moleben to the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign at 75 East 93rd Street in New York, after which the symposium will commence.   

The following lectures will be read: 

1. “From Sorrow to Joy. The Historical Path of the Russian Church Abroad,” by Protopriest Alexander Golubov. 

2. “ROCOR: On the Path from the Present to the Future,” by Priest Serge Ledkovsky.   

On October 2, Archbishop Justinian will officiate at all-night vigil at St Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral at 15 East 97th Street. Vladyka Justinian will officiate at Divine Liturgy the next day at the Synodal Cathedral at 9:30 the next morning.   

A reception will be held after Liturgy.
