Also participating in the Liturgy will be the Deputy President of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Hegumen Philip (Ryabykh). Expected to pray at the service will be members of the DECR, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and of the Russian Embassy in Argentina, and numerous other compatriots living in Argentina.

The services will precede the opening of the round table “Compatriots and the Russian Orthodox Church: Experience in Cooperation in Latin America,” organized by the DECR and the MFA of Russia, scheduled of August 22-23. The round table hopes to analyze questions of cooperation between the Church and Russians living in Latin America, and develop paths to resolve problems.
