MUNICH: July 5, 2010
Metropolitan Hilarion Officiates at Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia

On July 4 and 5, 2010, at the invitation of His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, who had been on a health retreat at Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic, visited the Bavarian capital of Munich. There he performed all-night vigil and officiated at Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia, as reported by Sedmitza.ru.

The important guest was joined in the services by Vladyka Mark and His Grace Bishop Agapit of Stuttgart (for all-night vigil), along with other clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.

On July 5, Protopriest Nikolaj Sabelich of Holy Resurrection Community of the cities of Dachau and Munich of the Moscow Patriarchate came to visit the Primate of the Church Abroad.

After Liturgy, a trapeza was offered so that the parishioners of Munich could meet with Metropolitan Hilarion.

The planned farewell with Bishop Agapit, who was to depart for Australia on temporary assignment on July 5, where Vladyka Hilarion had served as Ruling Bishop for many years, was postponed due to the health of Vladyka Agapit, who had suffered from a car accident on July 4.

Later Monday, Metropolitan Hilarion returned to Karlovy Vary to continue his treatment.
