Archbishop Ionafan of Tulchinsk and Bratslavsk Will Meet With Clergy and Laity at the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” 

On November 8, 2010, His Eminence Archbishop Ionafan of Tulchinsk and Bratslavsk will meet with clergy and laity at the parish hall of the Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in San Francisco, CA, at 7 pm. Vladyka Ionafan holds a doctorate in theology and is one of the most important contemporary composers of church music, the author of a series of papers, articles and translations, and is a member of the Patriarchal Council on Culture and the Theological Canonical Commission of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as well as being a publicist. The topic of Vladyka Ionafan’s discussion will be “’We Who Mystically Represent the Cherubim’ or How to Poetically Understand and ‘Chorally’ Render the Cherubic Hymn.” According to the website of the Western American Diocese, Archbishop Ionafan will also answer questions, including those regarding the current state of Church affairs in Ukraine.
