UNION OF THE DESCENDANTS OF THE COMBATANTS OF GALLIPOLI
The Descendants of the Russians of Gallipoli, Dear Friends:
It is well known that General Baron Wrangel established the Society of the Russias of Gallipoli on November 22, 1921, exactly one year after the arrival in Gallipoli of the first segments of the White Army. For this reason, the Administration of the Union of the Descendants of the Combatants of Gallipoli decided that every year, on the Saturday closest to November 22, wherever the descendants of the people of Gallipoli might live, there be a pannikhida served. We ask that such descendants that can arrange such memorial services inform us about this at the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last year, the restored monument to the Russian warriors and their families was restored, and representatives of our Union contributed an icon of St Nicholas the Miracle-Worker in prayerful memory of our ancestors. In November, pannikhidas were performed in various countries of the Russian diaspora. A memorial dinner was also held in Paris.
This year, pannikhidas are already scheduled in the following cities on Sunday, November 21:
PARIS: The Gallipoli Monument at the Cemetery of Saint-Genevieve-de-Bois at 3 pm.
BRUSSELS: The Church of St Job the Much-Suffering of Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II (avenue de Fré) at 3 pm
GENEVA: Elevation of the Cross Cathedral at 5 pm
MOSCOW: To be announced, at 11 am.
FRANKFURT: The Church of St Nicholas at 5 pm
LUXEMBOURG: The Church of SS Peter and Paul at 5:30 pm
SAN FRANCISCO: The Cathedral of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” at 11 am
The Union requests that this information be disseminated as widely as possible.
