Representatives of the Fund for Assistance to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia Were Received By His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia
On May 8, 2008, Protopriest Victor Potapov, the Executive Director of the Fund for Assistance to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and members of the Fund's Board of Trustees: Protopriest Peter Holodny, Treasurer of the Synod of Bishops, and Priest Andrej Sikojev of the Diocese of Berlin and Germany, were paternally received by His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia at his office in Chisty Lane in Moscow.
During a lengthy meeting and following lunch, His Holiness lovingly remembered His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus of blessed memory, for whose soul all of Russia is praying. The Patriarch asked about the life of parishes in the diaspora, the forthcoming Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and of the work of the Fund for Assistance.
His Holiness Patriarch Alexy stressed the importance of developing and strengthening unity within the Russian Orthodox Church and asked that his guests relay his patriarchal blessings and love to His Eminence Archbishop Hilarion of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, the members of the Council and all the faithful of the Russian Church Abroad.
A detailed report on the visit by the delegation of the Fund for Assistance to Moscow will be published shortly.
