DIOCESE OF BUENOS AIRES AND SOUTH AMERICA: April 16, 2008
The Annunciation to the Mother of God in Argentina

The Cathedral of the Moscow Patriarchate in Buenos Aires, Argentina, celebrates its feast day on the Annunciation to the Mother of God. This year, Mitred Protopriest Vladimir Skalon, Rector of Resurrection Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, visited the Cathedral and participated in the celebration of Divine Liturgy, headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Platon. At the end of the service, Fr Vladimir greeted those in attendance and gave Vladyka Platon and the Cathedral's parishioners a gift of an icon of the Royal Martyrs.

In his response, His Eminence expressed his profound satisfaction at the reestablishment of the fullness of canonical communion within the one Local Russian Orthodox Church, noting that since then, relations between the Cathedrals of the Russian Church Abroad and the Moscow Patriarchate in Buenos Aires have been the warmest, and that there is active cooperation towards strengthening Russian Orthodoxy in Argentina. The celebration ended with the spirit of peace, joy and brotherly love.
