JORDANVILLE: February 15, 2007
Holy Trinity Seminary Hosts an Inter-Seminary Conference

From February 9-11, Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY, hosted a regular meeting of the Orthodox Inter-Seminary Movement (OISM), in which more than 60 students from five North American Orthodox schools participated: St Tikhon's Seminary, Holy Trinity Seminary, St Vladimir's Seminary, Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School and Saint Andrew's College.

For the first time in its 40-year history, the OISM met on the territory of Holy Trinity Monastery. Over the three days, the participants participated in the

liturgical life of the monastery and became acquainted with their counterparts from other monasteries, and also discussed all current questions relating to unifying efforts.

Among the main events of the Conference was the keynote address delivered by the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus. Afterwards, the guests were given a tour of the Monastery and Seminary. A new President of OISM was elected, Kevin Meyers of St Tikhon's Seminary.

The participants also discussed the possibility of creating a website for OISM and viewed slides of a pilgrimage to St Herman's Seminary in Kodiak, AK, and Spruce Island.

After the Conference, the participants of this meeting expressed their profound gratitude to His Eminence Metropolitan Laurus for granting his blessing for organizing their meeting on the grounds of Holy Trinity Seminary, also thanking the monastic brethren, administration and students of HTS for their hospitality.
