A Group of Nyack Parish School Students to Visit Russia

After the second invitation since September of this year received from the Moscow Department of Education, the Rector of the Holy Virgin Protection Parish School in Nyack , NY , Deacon Dimitri Temidis, and three graduating students will represent their school at a language festival. The festival will include the Russian, English, Bulgarian and French languages and will be held in Moscow from November 21-28, 2006. The participants from Protection School speak not only fluent Russian and English, but sing and read Slavonic at their church services, for which they have been given the honor of visiting the homeland of their forefathers and represent Orthodox Russia in the diaspora.

On Saturday, after the second class period, Mitred Protopriest George Larin, the Director of the school, along with one of the teachers, Deacon Serge Arlievsky, will conduct a moleben for travelers, at which the teachers and students will pray.
