Meeting of a Pre-Council Sub-Committee is Held

With the blessing of Archbishop Hilarion of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand, the President of the Pre-Council Committee responsible for the organization of the IV All-Diaspora Council, a meeting was held at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist. Members of this sub-committee include: Protopriest Victor Potapov, Rector of the Cathedral, Protopriest Peter Perekrestov, Secretary of the Committee, and Priest Serafim Gan, Secretary of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.

Performing a moleben first, the sub-committee members sent a letter of congratulations to Protopresbyter Valery Lukianov, Rector of St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Lakewood (Howell), NJ, which was celebrating its feast day. They also discussed several practical matters relating to the All-Diaspora Council, scheduled for May 6-13, 2006. The results of this meeting will be reported to the President and the other members of the Pre-Council Committee at its next session.
